Galerie Number 8 presents, “Poetic Consequences” a bold collection of portraits from photographer Djeneba Aduayom. A combination of three photographic series, this online exhibition convenes around the ideas of perception and preconception.The person we tend to see at first glance is a familiar but superficial view of who is actually there. As with all of her work, Aduayom here asks us to try harder: to feel by seeing, empathize by understanding, love by accepting. Each Aduayom subject is a layered world of human experience – heat and isolation, turmoil and faith, fragility and vigor – and with each frame, she invites us to consider their deeper stories one by one.
