"through this project I expresses an obsession with the full moon phenomenom. the full moon is the phase during wich this star appears the brightest from Earth. they inspire many Myths and would have an effect on the behavior of the living and mineral world .
Kâlo Bôla literally means "the moon is out" in Malinké and describes when it shines the brightest. The moon has always played an important role in the Malinké culture because it symbolises the monthly cycle. The full moon is associated with renewal and mystical powers. When I was younger, my grandmother often told me stories about it and there are also many rules, such as not letting a baby look at the moon and not sweeping the house at night. These things fascinate me and Kâlo Bôla describes the attraction the moon has on me and the importance of tradition because during moments of doubt and difficulty, it allows us to hold on to something and to keep hope. To hang on to the idea that we are part of a whole and that others before us have lived on this earth and that the earth will continue to exist even without us.
