Some of my customers were keen to travel in order to leave a souvenir behind them for their families as well as an escape from reality. It mostly didn't work out as they would oly travel as far as Mali or Ivory Coast, a very popular place for Voltaic people. But most of the time, they just pretended to travel. I had this ariplane design made in Bouaké in Ivory Coast by a Ghanaian painter. I would also find most of my photographic material in Bouaké when I took the train. The airplane background conveyed a true sense of departure, while the Volta Photo one, made by a local painter, was more urbane.
